Subversion is a free, open-source revision control system (RCS). Subversion manages files and directories over time. These files and directories are placed into a central storage called a repository. The repository is quite similar to an ordinary file server, except that it remembers every change ever made to your files and directories. This allows you to recover older versions of your data, or examine the history of how your data changed. The software is released under an Apache/BSD-style open-source license. You can integrate Subversion (SVN) in WebRatio using the Subversive project. The Subversive plug-in gives you the ability to work with the CVS successor version control system from the WebRatio workbench. You can work with Subversion repositories in almost exactly the same way as you now work with CVS repositories using the CVS plug-in bundled in the standard Eclipse distribution.
