Rendering the Hidden Fields of an Entry Unit

An Entry Unit can be composed of many fields and some of them can be hidden fields.

Placing the entry unit in the grid usually means place each field individually in order to get a specific layout for the unit. Hidden fields do not have the corresponding layout element because the user does not see these fields in the Web page. So, they can't be placed explicitely in the grid. In order to correclty render these fields in the page, WebRatio provides a built-in unit template for the Entry Unit, the Hidden Fields unit template.

To correctly use this template you have to:

  1. place each field of the entry unit in the grid as you like
  2. place the entire entry unit and associate the Hidden Fields unit layout to it

The Hidden Fields unit template ignores all the entry unit fields except the hidden ones and prints them in the page.

For this reason, this template can be used also if the entry unit is composed only by hidden fields.
